China: China’s malting barley imports for January2006 -February 2006

The Chinese malting barley imports in January/February of this year were 464.000 tonnes, up 35 % on last year’s 344.000 tonnes during the same period. Main suppliers were Australia with 291.000 tonnes and Canada with 158.000 tonnes. EU barley is not competitive in China.
